Photographers: this one’s for you. Pack my photography gear with me for our first wedding of 2025! While we are Charleston-based photographers, we shoot a ton of destination weddings and this is our first of 2025! We thought it would be so fun to show you how we prep and what we pack. Let’s get into it!
We always make sure to pack two cameras when we’re shooting a wedding and an array of different lenses. For this wedding, we wanted to make sure we brought our two tried and true lenses, and a third *just in case*. One lens is our primary, while the other is for those more specific shots/events. We always pack a flash for wedding days since it will inevitably get dark AND everyone wants epic reception/after party pictures. We of course have to pack a plethora of SD cards, just in case, and we love the Sandisk Extreme Pro cards!
Otherwise, we will take film rolls if we’re planning to shoot film, our Meta Rayban Glasses to capture BTS, and I’m excited to try out my brand new photog sling bag! (Sorry Micah, you’ll get a new bag soon…) Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just starting out, we hope that sharing our wedding-day favorites will be helpful for you! OUR PRODUCTS:
Camera: We shoot on a Canon R6 MARK II so we’re making sure to pack two cameras.
Lenses: Canon RF 70-200 2.8 Lens – this lens, I use mainly for ceremonies & at receptions, specifically at dinner and speeches. Canon RF 28-70 2.0 Lens – this is our main base lens. I’d say I use this 90% of the wedding day! Canon EF 85 1.2 Lens – we haven’t shot on this lens in awhile…but it’s a great option!
Flash: Godox V1 Flash – for nighttime/dark receptions/ after party shots.
SD Cards: Sandisk Extreme Pro SD Cards – you can never have enough! We always bring at least 5…just in case.
Waterproof Protective Case – This is what we use to hold & transport all of our gear, while keeping it well protected.
