We truly feel that posing is such a HUGE part of your photography success and this is a great easy posting tip for photographers that we think seriously helps when it comes to capturing your couples: pose stacking!
Let’s get into it.
Pose stacking is where you take one pose, and build 4-5 other poses off of that one pose to create a series of poses back to back, resulting in natural-looking photos. This allows you to capture multiple photos without ever coming out of the pose! This is a great way to keep the session flowing and create natural movement. It also helps you avoid stagnant poses that make for a lot of stopping and starting.
Pose stacking doesn’t have to be complicated…some of our favorites include:
- adding in a kiss
- adding in a hand hold
- adding in a face grab
Start your couples in the base pose, and guide them with small additions that will change the photo. This can be a mix of you guiding them, and just letting your couples do what feels natural in terms of laughing, smiling, kissing, and moving.
